Recently, people have been a tad bit rude and obscene in the chatbox. Which of course is in direct connection to the server.

I'm suggesting that the OP's should have commands in the chat, that could disable players for chatting.
Such as:
/kick
/mute
/ban
Might I remind Scabbser that the ability to ban a user does exist on this forums.

If a player really is that 'obscene' and 'rude' then he should be banned from the forums all together--should he not?

The idea of kicking a player from the chatbox is downright silly.

Yes, kick him from the chat and watch him re-open the chat a second later! What a great idea.

If a few users are really that obscene and rude then why are the staff on this community not utilizing the feature to ban players from the forums?

There's no need to add new commands. The power to ban people on the forums is sufficient.
Doesn't make much sense to really ban someone on the forums, when they did something small enough to get them kicked off of the chat box.

And if you just did /kick on the chat box, it could maybe 'kick' them for an hour or so.

And if there is no ability to ban someone on these forums, then why am I able to ban players?

Not all things are bannable offenses.
So then there's no need to add new commands if in your terms, they're not that bad. Clearly what you are telling me right now is that these users are extremely rude and yet their not. Why do we need commands if they're not? And why do we need commands if we can just ban them if they're that bad?
You were being that "rude" or "obcene" today crea lol. Do you want me to perm ban you from the fourms?
^ exactly.

Whether you are intoxicated or not, I don't think you'd want to be permanently banned from the forums.
I'd think a temp mute is a good idea.
A temporary mute or ban of ten minutes should suffice
I could make /mute also hide web chat messages from that person on the server. You would still be able to see them on the site though.
The problem is the fact that the server and forum are intertwined, (not necessarily a bad thing)
