Hey guys, I just thought to create this as a blog sorta thing where I post all my suggestions as I go along to help prevent my spamming of suggestions in the forum.

--/votekick--

Maybe we could have a "/votekick" command that allows you to start a vote a person to be kicked. It would work as if someone did "/votekick [name]" then that would start the vote and/or vote for the person to be kicked. This would help prevent rule breaking or people hiding with the flag. 1 more than half the server would have to vote this person out. And you could do "/vkn [name]" (vkn = vote kick no) to go against them being kicked. Almost like how rtv works.

--New Player Helper Bot--

Also, maybe we could have a helper bot so that when a player says "How to use tnt" or something of the kind, it responds to them telling them how to use it. Same with mines and captures etc. Them asking would only show on their screen and same with the bot resoponding. This would help make it easier for us players to continue playing the game and then the new players could learn on their own.
I like the new player helper, but i feel it would be a lot of work.
In terms of votekick, i think that we usually have ops on at all times, so this is unnecessary, but i feel that I am outvoted on this. So i would like to ask that 2/3 or 3/4 of the people on the server have to vote to kick, as opposed to half. I have seen this in practice, and i could see this not working out.
The reason I suggested the votekick is for examples such as T97 had with killerninja. And it is more than half the server having to vote yes. You could also choose no if you please.

The helper bot wouldn't be that hard. All it should do is respond to the player with the basic use of almost typing /help.
I guess this could work. I was just a bit worried that the general ctf population may just not like someones attitude or someone in particular, and votekick them. I think that someone should not be kicked for being annoying, and I am not sure that the general masses agree with me.

On the other hand, I believe that if this is similar to the rtv (including the new changes), it could work and be a help to the server. Either that, or 2/3 majority vote. I was just against the whole 1 more than half.
The bot idea sounds cool, but I think an easier solution would just be making a more comprehensive help page.

For example, typing just /help could display a list of subtopics:

/help tnt
/help mine
/help flags
etcetera

so that the help message wouldn't have to be so condensed. I'm pretty sure one of the past Jacob_'s CTF clone servers did this.

Also, it would help if the automatic "Say /help to learn how to play" message played periodically during rounds, instead of just at the beginning.
Most new people don't like to use the /help menu, so they still usually just say:

"How to use tnt" "How to blow tnt" etc...

Plus, they usually learn if and when someone teaches them.

EDIT: Make the bot tell them step by step how to place tnt and mines, etc. Like, it would tell them how to get tnt in their inventory then place it and a purple (indigo) wool.

P.S. basicly no newb likes to read the instructions these days... they just try to tag and then rage.
I hate the "to", "how to", why can't they type, " how do I" or " how can I"?
Since last month or so, you have to type /help before being able to play. There's probably no way to help the people that still ask basic questions like that...
