Voting Request (No Complaints about Nomination) - pen23 - 12-28-2013

I'd like to ask why we can only vote for the maps in the voting choice, why can't we vote for any map on the server? I liked that way better. Crap maps come up, or maps that people just want to /rtv on.

Because it was even worse before, the less popular maps NEVER got played. Restricting the end of round voting to 3 maps makes it so some of them get played more often, although obviously outpost always wins if it's one of the choices.

Jacob_, outpost/stadium always wins because people keep nominating them. Even if they weren't in the choices, the other maps would just be voted, and /rtv'd on. They don't actually play on the map.

How often does /rtv actually pass?

I think there's a bug where the maps nominated during a failed /rtv will be shown during the regular voting. I could fix that, and maybe increase the number of votes required.

I actually agree with Pen here--what he's saying is very accurate. People are finding loopholes; not per-say glitches, within the system.

This new system doesn't work--as Pen elaborated above. People are finding loopholes (aka the /rtv command) and repeadetly using them to get to popular maps such as Sector 9, Out-Post, and Stadium.

In truth, the new system does makes it harder for overused maps to be chosen but the differences--in the end--are minimal to virtually non-existant.

(Increasing the minimum number of votes won't really help in my opinion and may destroy the point of having a RTV command).

Less popular maps do get played. I feel some of you are taking it to an extreme, yes people do /rtv on them, but it doesn't always pass, sometimes it does, sometimes not, and that's the point of /rtv. Just my opinion, take it for what you want.

Maybe having it so you can only /rtv once every 2 rounds would help. Then people could actually play less picked maps (And maybe like them more).

I also understand that when in a /rtv vote, people can rejoin the server and do /rtv over and over again... that gets kind of annoying when your playing on a decent map and the one person wants to change it...
