Control Points (CP) Game Mode (Idea) - Creatoss - 12-20-2013

Game Mode: Control Points (CP)
Victory Conditions:
-First team to capture all control points.
-Team that holds the most control points at the end of the round.

*If both teams hold the same amount of Control Points by the end of the round, the round ends in a draw.

Teams: 2 [Red vs. Blue]

Start:
-Both teams will start with one Control Point.

Capturing a CP:
-Team members must stand in the CP Capture Zone
-In order to capture a control point one team must be within the capture zone for at least thirty seconds
-If an enemy team member enters the CP Capture Zone, then capture progress will be halted

Additional Info:
-There will be a time limit to each game (about 10-15 Minutes per round)
-A Team Scramble option (maybe?)
-Players will respawn automatically to the closest frontline Control Point

Example Map:

O - Red Team START CP

O-CP

0- MidCP

O-CP

O - Blue Team START CP

I think that's called Team Fortress 2. :P

Sounds like a good idea, but the server was never designed to support other game modes.

Stuff like this sounds possible, but hard to program.

And when I saw something sounds like TF2, that doesn't mean it's bad, Creatoss. I think your ideas are fine.

I don't know if it could be put all on one server. If it can like Mars said it would be hard to program. It is a good idea though.

It sounds like people are just going to store spam the CPs.

I'm not so worried about people necessarily store spamming the Control Points. Even if people do spam the control points, I think that'll leave us with some new challenges and discussions on how to fix the problem. More or less, it'll be a project that we keep updating until we find a good balance.

That's if we even attempt this project :P.
