What you guys are suggesting is no different from the original idea of players having no names. Black dot or no name, the point is that players won't be able to see what team a player is on. Although thirty seconds doesn't seem a lot, it gives players plenty of time to abuse this item and too much time to use this item to capture a flag and escape safely.

I totally disagree with this item because it will only add problems to CTF.

In the sense that you cannot find out the team of the player because he has no/black name, the period should be colored according to the dark color of his team.
Not sure if that really makes a difference on visibility.

I think you haven't read our responses clearly. We're not necessarily interested in this idea; we're more concerned about this item's damaging effects to the server.

Well I think we've agreed that it is not possible to hide a name without hiding the player, and that we are instead going to replace it with a period. The suggestion is still basically the same. The number of seconds can still be adjusted so it's not useless or OP. I couldn't see this creating any problems other than bugs, which could definitely be sorted out.

Back in my days, when the server was young...and I was even younger, I used to hunt and kill specters who stole our flag...People are just lazy and say that this would be too OP...but things have changed now the flag hangs on top of the carriers...So it should be even easier...

Whether or not replacing the name with a period is effective in hiding the player should be tested on the mapbuild.

That's a good point, I added the flag blocks for the purpose of telling if someone you were looking at had the flag, not for following it from all the way across the map. Maybe just adding a symbol to their name or something would be a good idea? I too miss the days of sneaking in, getting the flag and getting out before anyone saw you.
