Hello, my name is Ban.
Today, I'd like to give you all advice on your technique.
We all have our own technique.
I recommend you find out what you like best.

You can be an Aggressive Player or a Defensive Player.
Me personally, I'm a Aggressive Player.
So.. technique.

How to get more kills:
Technique is how you do things, how you get your kills, how you get your caps.
I recommend being patients. If you are in a rush to get kills, you most likely
wont get kills. Be patient and wait for your opponent to rush at you. If you rush,
yes you can get a load of kills, but a lot of deaths aswell, so be careful!

How to play defense:
To play Defense, you will basically being the one who sits back and chills.
You may have a mine hidden in one place, and another. Basically, defense is
well, it explains itself. Your defending your team, so your making sure that
the enemy doesn't grab your teams flag. I recommend you don't pillar. Once you
jump off the flag, the enemy can place tnt where your going to land, than
they may end up getting a flag cap. Just relax, and do as you do while
trying your best to defend your flag.

How to escort:
As I'm an Aggressive Player, I can also be an escort.
Basically, what this is, is your team mate, will steal the enemy flag.
You will follow your team mate, and basically escort him.
Don't let any of the team mates kill him. Maybe you can lead the
enemies to a trap with a mine.

Good advice, though can you not be an all-round player? defensive and attacking at the same time?

I don't believe you can. Atleast, if you can, I'm not that type of a player.
Say you play defense, and your winning by 3 caps. Than if you want, you can
quit defending and play aggression until your team starts losing (if that happens).

Defensive and attacking would probably be sitting around mid-field and just chasing people down from behind or appearing in front of them out of nowhere. Works pretty well if the flag bearer made it away from your team or if someone is taking side paths and you notice them. I used to do that a lot (depending on the map), it's more kill-oriented and less objective-oriented but it can be put into an objective-oriented style.

Its true, if you pillar and you jump off to try to tag/explode someone. You have a 80% chance of dying because, they may place a tnt where your about to land, than walk away. Again, this is just my opinion from how I've seen people play.

Not true. After you jump from your pillar, when your opponent places TNT where you will land, simply place a block on the TNT and land there. You will survive.
