Classic server idea: Archaeology

I've been in minecraft nostalgia mode lately and I remembered this thing: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/arc...ust-a-test


It was only up for a short time, but it was really popular. I just got an old build server map and buried everything in gray cloth. The goal was to delete the cloth and uncover everything, sounds boring but people liked it.

Finding suitable maps might be the hard part though. It was from a custom map server and back then maps actually had bridges and tunnels and stuff, not just small houses on flat grass like everybody builds now.

Do you still have any of those maps from the custom map server?

If not, I could see people adapting CTF maps to this type of thing to give it our own CTF flavored spin.

I'd be open to giving it a try, but using unique maps, not CTF ones.
