Welcome to Jacob_'s Minecraft Capture the Flag! We are one of the first Minecraft CTF servers and still add new features regularly.

This server is made for the original version of Minecraft (now called Classic) so it's completely free! Minecraft Classic is no longer updated, but a group of players and developers are now working on ClassiCube, an updated version with more features and better compatibility. To play on our server using ClassiCube, download the free client and search for Capture the Flag in the server list.

This is something that Blocktopia used for their TNT servers, and I liked it.

Instead of having one single spawn, there could be a larger spawn room with up to three portals in it that lead to different locations on the team's respective sides.

This can virtually eliminate all spawncamping since players will be able to enter the map through various directions.

What if players camped the portal exits? Like then it wouldn't be spawncamping but portalcamping and the team being camped would be stuck in that spawn room :/

But there would be at least two portals, and they wouldn't be able to watch both of them.

And if they do manage it, we have staff that can stop it.

I think it helps minimize spawmcamping, and can also lead to the creation of interesting maps.

I understand portals for spawns and a generalized lobby room, but digging secret tunnels has it's own purpose. If they were replaced by portals, what good would the idea of "secret" be. Meaning anybody could make portals, meaning they highly will be overused, manipulated, and make up a new "meta." And this idea of the "meta," will make most good, deep maps become obsolete, so let's just keep this within the boundaries of the map makers, coder (Jacob_), and not for anybody else.

If you're suggesting that people can build/use portals in-game, that is definitely not what I'm suggesting. My point is it creates like three spawning areas instead of one easily camped location.

Also, (if it's possible) we could have a sort of barrier from the portals, per-say that an opponent can't go within 5-6 blocks of the portal exit and can't place blocks in the range.

And if the portals are somehow camped, the regular spawn drop could also be used and have that barrier.

Makoto, I never said that people could put it down, just that it could be prebuilt into the map to eliminate those long tunnels so more stuff could be built in them.
