Welcome to Jacob_'s Minecraft Capture the Flag! We are one of the first Minecraft CTF servers and still add new features regularly.

This server is made for the original version of Minecraft (now called Classic) so it's completely free! Minecraft Classic is no longer updated, but a group of players and developers are now working on ClassiCube, an updated version with more features and better compatibility. To play on our server using ClassiCube, download the free client and search for Capture the Flag in the server list.

Added duels! Now if you want to 1v1 someone you can say /duel [their name]. If they accept it, other people won't be able to intefere, but you won't be able to capture the flag or kill anyone else. The first player to kill the other 3 times wins the duel.

What happens when you win the duel? Would you get a special reward? Bunch of points? Or is it just for fun and you don't get a reward? What happens when you win a duel exactly?

Nothing now, but duel wins are recorded in your stats. I think it's a better measure of skill than store points or leaderboard position, so if it's popular I might add some sort of special rank (no powers, just prestige) for people with the most wins.

how about giving the people who beat those people with the most wins consistently, but do not have enough time to duel often, a special rank?
Or use some sort of elo system, like in pro chess. (If thats not too much)

Suggestion to make duels less exploitable: At the end of the duel, teleport each player (or just the winning player) back to where they were when they typed /duel or /accept.


SCENARIO:
1. Player A wants to capture the other team's flag. The flag is heavily guarded, with some people defending mid-map and others staying back at the base, including the rookie Player B.
2. Player A challenges Player B to a duel. Player B, clueless, accepts.
3. Player A, now invincible, is able to make his way into the enemy base without any trouble. There he finds Player B, still defending, and explodes him.
4. Player A grabs the flag and takes it back to his team's base for an extremely easy point.

No, if we're going to have this kind of system then we should simply just have the players be teleported to their respective spawns.

Well it's basically the same thing but yes that works too.

Whatever the case, the invincibility should definitely stay in, it's a really cool feature.

Also, mines work in duels. I do not know if this is intentional, but i like it. Remove it if you want.

  • The winner of a duel now gets teleported back to their team spawn
  • VIPs can use /mute
  • /mute can mute players in the web chat
