Welcome to Jacob_'s Minecraft Capture the Flag! We are one of the first Minecraft CTF servers and still add new features regularly.

This server is made for the original version of Minecraft (now called Classic) so it's completely free! Minecraft Classic is no longer updated, but a group of players and developers are now working on ClassiCube, an updated version with more features and better compatibility. To play on our server using ClassiCube, download the free client and search for Capture the Flag in the server list.

With the server having updated to three mines, it is time to judge whether or not this was a good idea now that we have had a few days with it.

Personally, I think the addition of three mines has greatly slowed down the normally fast-paced game play of CTF. Having played CTF in a way that makes it harder to get the flag, due to three mines, actually seems to detract from the game: players often times find themselves fighting an almost never ending stalemate; after a while of playing the same round on the same map, you get bored, which is exactly what has happened to CTF.

CTF is a game that needs to be fast paced and action-packed in order for it to be entertaining; because three mines make it harder for players to capture the flag, CTF has a far slower game play.

3 mines is great for 1v1s, but when more people are playing it does become a but annoying.
I suggest that the limit of the number of mines should be based on the amount of players on your team.

That would be tricky to code and too complicated for players. Players will get confused about how many mines they can place in a particular game.

Not to me. the 3 mines make it more fun and exiting and more challanging. More action packed all that.

In terms of balance, 3 mines are incredibly OP and promote lengthy games. I suggest lowering the mine count because short games are fun to. Just think if 10 people are playing on compound. Not fair.
